38 weeks

........and still pregnant. I need to stop thinking that every little twinge or uncomfortable feeling means I'm going into labor!

How big is baby: The doctor said she's about average in size - she will probably be around 7.5 pounds when she's born (though that's really only a guess - she said the baby is around 6.5 pounds right now).
Weight gain/loss: +34 total. This next year is going to be fun getting rid of all that! But until then, I will continue to enjoy every single Christmas cookie :)
Pregnancy symptoms: Contractions are getting stronger and more frequent.
Maternity clothes: yes
Stretch Marks: same
Sleep: Still difficult to turn over, and I'm getting up several times every night to go to the bathroom. I think this is my body's way of getting me used to never sleeping normally again. Notice the time of this post? It's 5am.
Movement: Same - she's still moving a lot
Food cravings: Not much.
Food aversions: nothing in particular
Labor signs: More Braxton Hicks, starting to dilate and efface, and baby is at -4 station (meaning she's dropped down a bit). But this is all normal pre-labor stuff - none of it means the baby is coming anytime soon.
Belly button in or out: Same.
What I miss: My family. I am really excited to have everyone come visit in a couple of weeks after this baby arrives.
What I am looking forward to: Christmas!
On the to-do list: Yoga, a manicure and pedicure, and sleep. I'm off next week, and I plan on lots of sweatpants time and naps.
Milestones: Your baby has really plumped up. She weighs about 6.8 pounds and she's over 19 1/2 inches long. She has a firm grasp, which you'll soon be able to test when you hold her hand for the first time! Her organs have matured and are ready for life outside the womb.

Wondering what color your baby's eyes will be? You may not be able to tell right away. If she's born with brown eyes, they'll likely stay brown. If she's born with steel gray or dark blue eyes, they may stay gray or blue or turn green, hazel, or brown by the time she's 9 months old. That's because a child's irises (the colored part of the eye) may gain more pigment in the months after she's born, but they usually won't get "lighter" or more blue. (Green, hazel, and brown eyes have more pigment than gray or blue eyes.)
